Dr. Mandas Marikanda, the Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank (ZWMB). She has passion for financial inclusion for excluded communities such as rural population and disadvantaged groups including women. She has more than 20 years’ experience designing innovative financial interventions such as group savings, implementation of developmental microfinance, innovative lending initiatives in rural communities and is seasoned consultant and accredited trainer for ICT/ILO Making Microfinance work. She has been working with women and youths offering practical initiatives for entrepreneurship, employability among youths and young women. Mandas was Executive Director for Pundutso Microfinance (a World Vision partner) and as part of the World Vision fraternity, she undertook various assignments in Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia. She has a PHD in Economic Empowerment and microfinance from Aldersgate College Philippines. She is a holder of an MBA with Eastern University of USA and an HRUP (Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe.

Mr Charles Mavengere is a Chartered Accountant CA (Z) and seasoned finance professional who has over 16 years’ Finance and accounting experience working in various sectors in Zimbabwe and regionally. He holds a B. Compt (Hons) degree in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa.  He commenced his career with PWC Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe where he trained for his articles and later on went to hold senior finance roles in the banking industry and public sector, before joining the Bank in January 2022 as its Chief Finance Officer.

Mubaiwa Mberi is a seasoned ICT practitioner with over nineteen (19) years of experience. He has developed banking systems in the demanding finance industry, has developed and implemented Large ERP systems in both private and public sector. He is also a banker and marketer. He holds a diploma in banking (IOBZ), Diploma in network Centred Computing, Bsc Information systems, Bcom Marketing Management and holds a Masters in Business administration (Women’s University in Africa). He has vast experience in implementing projects, training and grooming young and upcoming ICT specialists. He brings skills in Digital strategy formulation and implementation, Technology innovation, Research and Development, Leadership and ICT projects management. He is married with 3 Children.

Barbara Muyengwa

Head of Marketing and Public Relations

Barbara Muyengwa is a qualified Banker and a seasoned Marketer with over 15 years in management position within the Financial Industry. She began her career with ZB Bank 1990 and worked for Z B Finance and Trust Bank. She has a proven record in the Strategic Marketing Planning, Business Development, Selling and Sales Management, Customer Relationship Management Private Banking and Quality Service Training. She is a holder of Bachelors Administration Degree in Marketing, Institute of Bankers (Zimbabwe) Diploma in Banking, and completed a Masters of Business Administration Degree with Management college of South Africa. Prior to re-joining Trust s was appointed General Manager at Julie Whyte a clothing manufacturer where she contributed immensely to fashion trends. She has immense passion for women empowerment and was instrumental at the setting up of Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank. Barbara has a lovely daughter, Tariro.

Axilia Chikava

Head of Credit

A Certified Expert in Microfinance (CEMF) and SME Finance (CESF) by Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany. She has more than 15 years’ experience gained in banking and microfinance sector covering risk management, MSME financing, debt management and development finance consulting.  Axilia is passionate about development finance and has been providing technical assistance to financial institutions including banks and microfinance institutions in their lending strategies, product development, staff training and entrepreneurship training of clients. Axilia has been instrumental in setting up of Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank Credit Department, credit products and credit lending models and strategies where she currently holds a position of Head of Credit.  She holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science (BCompt) degree with University of South Africa (UNISA), ACCA member and is currently studying for a Master of Leadership in Development Finance with Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany.

Selestino Chikwature

Selestino Chikwature is a Chartered Development Finance Analyst. Incumbent has more than ten years of experience fund raising for development finance projects, public private partnership projects and investment management. He is a seasoned banker with wide expertise in structuring deals across various sectors of the economy from: Infrastructure transactions, green finance and sustainable development; development finance projects in Micro finance & SMEs support in marginalised communities and private public partnership projects.  He is the current Head of Treasury for Zimbabwe Women’s Micro Finance Bank. He has previously held managerial positions at middle and senior level at Finance Partners Africa, Tetrad Bank, Platinum Asset Managers (Previously MBCA Capital), Premier Bank (now Ecobank Zimbabwe) and Momentum Management Consultants South Africa.  He is non-executive director for Mukute Safaris Operators (Pvt) limited managing about 100 square kms of wild ranch in the northern parts of Zimbabwe. He is also an executive director of Farmhook exports (Pvt) Limited– an agricultural value chain company supporting small holders farmers and aggregating produce for export market.

He holds a Masters of Philosophy in Development finance from Stellenbosch University -South Africa; a Master’s of Science in Finance and Investments and Bachelor of Commerce Honours in degree in finance from National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Zimbabwe. Currently working on PhD research in development Finance.

A multi skilled banker who has acquired an in-depth knowledge in Retail Banking and Banking Operations. She has a strong background in Business development and Operational risk management Clarah is a seasoned banker with over 18 years in managerial position. She started her banking career at Barclays Bank as a junior clerk and rose through the ranks to Branch Manager, gaining experience in most banking functions. Having worked for Steward Bank as Cluster Manager and Success Micro Finance Bank as Head of Banking. She has gained diversity in Retail and Credit strategies to work with Personal, Micro and SME account holders.

Herbert is a seasoned governance and compliance Professional with over 20 years’ experience in management positions within the financial services sector.  Over the years he had exposure to governance and compliance in banking, life assurance, general insurance, asset management and stock broking. He started his career in the financial services industry at Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe (now First Capital Bank) as Assistant Company Secretary. He also held a similar position in the Old Mutual Group in Zimbabwe. Herbert is a holder of a Bachelor of Accountancy honours degree, an Executive Development Programme (EDP) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) all from the University of Zimbabwe. He is also a Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute finalist (CGI).

Fungai is a career banker with over 20 years of experience in retail, credit, operations and development finance. He has vast experience in consumer, micro, small and medium enterprise and agriculture lending. He is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers of Zimbabwe and a Member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Management, holds a diploma, advanced Diploma in Credit and currently doing a Diploma in Micro-finance. Fungai has worked in various positions at some of the leading commercial banks and was involved in the setting up of the third micro-finance bank in Zimbabwe.

Sam Mahosi is a seasoned Supply Chain Practitioner whose experience spans over  12 years. Sam has worked both in the Public and Private sectors of Zimbabwe where he has held various senior positions. He has worked for the Ministry of Local Government Public Works and National Housing, Econet Wireless and Shelter Solutions Property Development. Sam is a member of the Supply Chain Association of Zimbabwe. He is a Supply Chain Expert who is keen on sharing ideas and knowledge on how to improve global supply chains. He is a holder of a B. Com Honours Purchasing and Supply (Bindura University) and is studying towards an MSc in Supply Chain.

Peace has worked in the private sector with Banc ABC bank. He is studying towards a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance with Midlands State University; He is a holder of a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Human Resources Management from Midlands State University. He has a Diploma in Payroll and Benefits Administration from Stallone Consultancy.
